Aims to turn Italy into a leader in European climate and energy policy and its external projection. The work will support actions to accelerate the implementation of the European Green Deal in Italy, taking advantage of the Next Generation EU, to adopt an ambitious “Fit for 55%” package and identify trade reforms fit for the challenge. We aim to project the idea of the European Green Deal into the world, with a view to building a geopolitics of cooperation where climate action is the driving force.
Revisione Regolamento TEN-E
During the energy Council on Friday, June 11, Member States will aim to find a shared position on the revised rules for cross-border European energy infrastructure. The Commission’s proposal excludes fossil gas should be eligible under the Trans-European Networks for Energy (TEN-E) regulation, but governments still have divergent positions on this. Being the first energy legislation revised in light of the updated energy and climate goals, the TEN-E sets an important precedent for the credibility of the EGD delivery. Together with E3G, we explore the arguments why Italy should join the group of 11 Member States supporting the original Commission’s proposal for a gas-free regulation.
