Alexandra is Senior Associate Climate Diplomacy at ECCO
Alex works with ECCO to shape new political ambition for faster climate action through multilateral and bilateral cooperation.
Alex is a freelance climate diplomacy strategist with 15 years’ experience in climate change policy development and advocacy both inside and outside government. She’s led climate diplomacy and governance teams in the UK Government, climate change think tank, E3G, research institute, the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, and local government in Australia. Her areas of expertise include climate geopolitics, UNFCCC, G7 and G20 climate agreements, and international finance system reform.
Alex brings skills in negotiations, coalition building and political strategy to ECCO. Her experience includes developing government climate change strategies such as drafting the UK’s first Nationally Determined Contribution and City of Perth Energy Resilient City plan. She has also built champion groups of NGOs, ministers, and negotiators to shape global climate agreements including the COP26 Glasgow Climate Pact, G7 support for a global commitment to transition away from fossil fuels, and the Climate and Development Ministerial’s access to finance task force aimed at helping countries break down barriers and pool sources of finance behind their national climate plans.
