“Foot Off The Gas – Why Italy should invest in clean energy” is a newly released research report by Carbon Tracker which finds that a Clean Energy Portfolio (CEP – composed by renewables, storage, demand response and efficiency) is already more competitive than new combined-cycle gas plants (CCGTs). Consequently, Carbon Tracker finds that investment in new CCGTs would not only be bad for the emission goals but also comparatively more expensive and could result in a risk of stranded assets.
The report will be discussed with representatives of institutions, academia and industry during this SDA Bocconi webinar in collaboration with ECCO and Carbon Tracker.
