Valentina Gasbarri is an experienced communications professional and an inspirational strategic leader. For almost a decade, as a communication and external relations manager in top international media outlets, NGOs and International organizations, first, and communications executive in the private sector, more recently, she has coordinated multi-disciplinary teams in multi-cultural environments to distil complex economic, political and food and sustainability topics into powerful communication messages.
Her professional experience includes positions, among others, at Seeds&Chips – The Global Food Innovation Summit, at the Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition (BCFN) Foundation, at the World Farmers’ Organisation, at the Inter-Press Service (IPS), UNESCO Beijing Office and The Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations in New York.
She also currently serves as Communication and Outreach Manager at FAO for the Europe and Central Asia regional dialogues related to the UN Food Systems Summit.
She holds a M.Sc. in International Diplomacy (SIOI, Rome), M. SC. International Relations (University of Milan) and a B.Arts in Cultural and Linguistic Mediation (University of Milan). She has lived in Japan, in the USA, in Switzerland and Belgium. She speaks Italian, English, Japanese and French.
Based in Rome, Valentina loves documentary photography, travels, podcasts, old Italian movies and adventure books.
