Giovanni D’Amico is an Intern Foreign Policy at ECCO. 

Giovanni holds a degree in International Sciences and European Institutions from the University of Milan and is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy at Leiden University in The Hague, with a thesis on US and European strategies for the procurement of critical raw materials. During his studies, his research has focused on the geopolitics of the energy transition, as well as on concepts of energy, climate and environmental security. 

Before joining ECCO, Giovanni completed a year-long internship at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations (Clingendael), where he specialised in EU energy policy and diplomacy. In this role, he also contributed to several publications on topics related to the energy transition and the opportunities it presents in conflict-affected areas (such as Ukraine) and developing countries.
